Welcome to my site, EarthMothering! I wish you happy and mindful pregnancy, labor, birth, and parenting. My goal with this site is to create a place where people can find support and evidence based resources for pregnancy, birth, infancy, health, mothering and parenting…and of course, to share a bit about my passions and services as a doula. I became a doula because I believe that by creating and supporting families’ meaningful, loving birth and parenting skills we can create a better world with each child born. (And happily, there are several good studies that back me up!)
May you always be surrounded by warmth, laughter, and love. Geitses! In the Doula Spirit,
Jeanine Gilmaher, CD & PCD (DONA)

Each child is diverse. what functions for 1 will not operate for another depends

I absolutely agree that each child is diverse. In fact, that’s part of why having a doula is valuable, even if you already have children and are an experienced parent. Each child is unique. There are differences in temperament, birth order, environment, parental styles and temperament, and sibling interactions with each pregnancy, birth, and newborn period. My job as a doula is to be able to observe your family and make suggestions that best fit your family based upon your family’s needs right at this moment. I find that a common challenge many parents experience is they get conflicting information from myriad sources, and often have a tough time sorting out which suggestions will work best for them in the midst of all the overwhelm and adjustments that come with a new baby.
Thanks for joining the conversation.

I apologize, but I don’t know that it is. I’m afraid I’m learning as I go. I’ll work on making my website useable with mobile browsers. Thank you for letting me know you couldn’t access my site. You might try it again, as I recently re-configured my site.
